About Us
Artistic Project
TABB focuses on organizing multidisciplinary artistic projects centered on uplifting and celebrating the black identity in our community. The focus is on providing black-led platforms that protect and encourage black voices.
Exhibitions
TABB organizes and curates exhibitions that showcase the talent and creativity of Black artists and creators. These exhibitions feature diverse artworks, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, video portraits, poetry, prose, and other forms of creative expression. Through our exhibitions, we provide a platform for artists to share their stories, experiences, and perspectives with the community, while also promoting dialogue and reflection on blackness.
Publications
We produce artistic publications that highlight the work of Black creators and allies. These publications may include images, writings, poetry, prose, and other literary works that celebrate
the richness and diversity of Black culture and identity. By sharing these works with the public, we aim to amplify diverse voices, challenge stereotypes, and promote greater understanding and appreciation of Black art and culture.
Community Events
TABB hosts a variety of community events, including workshops, panel discussions, artist talks, film screenings, and performances. These events provide meaningful opportunities for community members to engage with art, culture, and social issues. They also serve as platforms for artists, activists, scholars, and community leaders to come together, share ideas, and build connections.
Educational Programs
We develop and facilitate educational programs that promote cultural awareness, diversity, and inclusion. These programs may include school visits, artist residencies, workshops, and educational resources for teachers and students. We aim to inspire the next generation of artists, leaders, and change-makers to embrace diversity and celebrate cultural heritage by
engaging with schools and educational institutions.
Collaborations and Partnerships
TABB collaborates with local organizations, cultural institutions, businesses, and community
groups to expand the reach and impact of our initiatives. These partnerships may involve co-hosting events, sharing resources, and collaborating on projects that promote shared goals and objectives. We aim to create synergies and maximize our collective impact by working with diverse stakeholders
"Overall, The Art of Being Black is committed to creating spaces and opportunities for Black artists and creators to thrive, while also promoting greater understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Black art and culture.
